By: Fred Saberhagen. Narrated by: Robin Bloodworth. Series: The New Dracula, Book 4. Length: 11 hrs and 31 mins. Unabridged Audiobook. Categories: Science Fiction Fantasy, Fantasy. out of 5 stars. (40 ratings) The immortal Count Dracula - Vlad Tepes, Prince of Wallachia - hunts the murderous art thieves who have stolen the portrait. Saberhagen's 'Thorn' works better in the past than in the present, but the story holds together well. The vampire Drakulya recalls his days as Prince Wladislaus and his political marriage to Helen. Forever trapped in the form of a young woman, Helen reappears in Dracula's life when an important art work resurface centuries later. The ninth book of the series is A Sharpness on the Neck and here Fred Saberhagen seems to poke fun of himself a bit, poking fun of how "Mr. Graves" (Another alias for Dracula) shifts from third person perspective to first person perspective.
